Jan Boelen is co-founding Artistic Director of Atelier LUMA, Arles. A curator of design, architecture, and contemporary art, he is the founder and former artistic director of Z33 – House for contemporary art, Hasselt, Belgium. Boelen is Program Director of the Aral School, Uzbekistan, and has taught internationally. Recent publications include Social Matter, Social Design: For Good or Bad, all Design is Social (Valiz), Muller Van Severen: Dialogue (Walther Koenig), and Atelier Luma, Bioregional Design Practices (Luma). Boelen is on Experimental Foundation’s Advisory Board.
